Professor Eric Acha is a 2nd degree black belt under Master Jean Jacques Machado. He has been training Jiu Jitsu for 20 years and teaching Jiu Jitsu professionally for 14 years. In addition to be being the owner and head instructor of JJ Machado DFW, Professor Eric is also a partner / owner of Peninsula Self Defense, which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Professor Eric founded Peninsula Self Defense in 2010 and Peninsula Self Defense is one of the largest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools in the San Francisco Bay Area with a reputation for quality instruction.

Professor Eric Acha is also a retired California police officer with 22 years of service. During his police service, Professor Eric was a defensive tactics instructor and a state recognized expert in police use of force. Professor Eric and the entire JJ Machado DFW family support law enforcement and first responders.

After retiring from police work, Professor Eric and his family relocated to Texas and are residents of Colleyville. They opened JJ Machado DFW with the goal of sharing Jiu Jitsu and it’s positive benefits with their community.
